Chelsea Creek MA 'Wildflowers' #danielhope #storyofasaltmarsh 1080HD

New! from Dana-Zoe Gest Photography and Mill Hill Studio in celebration of the variety and abundance of Wildflowers that populate the Chelsea Creek Wildlife and Aquatic Habitat in Chelsea, Massachusetts.

These photos represent only about one third of the entire library i photographed before the Tornado that started in the Creek Basin ran through the tidal plains, the Slade Mill, Revere Beach Parkway and Broadway through Revere, which means an update will need to be done to see was had re-populated.

to my knowledge, no has ever done an inventory of the Wildflowers native to Chelsea. Native also means that the First Peoples and the Early Massachusetts Bay Colony depended on these native plants for medicine, dyes, edible food for themselves, their animals, to draw wildlife that can help pollenate and protects fields, and were an potent organic contributor to their survival in the New World. that Plants that are listed at Naturalized were often European ornamentals, that quickly became invasive - so the question and debate to consider is to we removed the invasive in the hopes of encouraging the native to grow to before invaded populations? With so little open space, do we want to have an organized Garden of Native Plants in the City, and encourage open spaces to include these in their plans?

Thanks to the City of Chelsea Archives, the original Chelsea Historical Web site once hosted by the Lady of Conception Parish until 2009, and stories from dozens of residents who recall what they heard and know of the history of the city intertwining with their experience of growing up Chelsea.
